Answer 1 of 14: Hello! We'd like to go to Railay Beach from Ao Nang for a couple of hours in the afternoon (~4pm). I noticed there are boat transfers to Railay Beach after 6pm at 150THB but can you also get back to Ao Nang with them in the evening (~8pm)?

Railay is much more "beachy" than Ao Nang, and more peaceful due to absence of roads and motor vehicles. Railay East beach isn't a beach at all - more like a muddy tidal flat, and nearby Ao Pha Nang beach (possibly the most beautiful) only has one mega-expensive resort. So for the immediate area (with good beachfront scene and good swimming) it kind of leaves you with only one option - to stay on Railay West and pay the price.

If you depart from Ao Nang to to Railay Beach or Railay Beach to Ao Nang there is a choice of using the daily ferry service which connects Ao Nang and Koh Lanta stopping off at Railay on the way.
